Priya Kumar

Staff Attorney

Priya joined Transcendent Law Group as a Staff Attorney, bringing her knowledge and experience of legal writing, courtroom experience, and zealous client advocacy.

She is admitted to the Louisiana State Bar Association, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, and all administrative Immigration Courts in the nation.

She has gained valuable courtroom experience representing clients in state courts and in detained and non-detained removal proceedings. In addition, she has clerked for state district court judges and also represented clients in administrative hearings and interviews.

Her background in immigration law and criminal law, as well as her dedication and commitment to public interest law and social justice, has provided a unique perspective to prepare for her current practice in employment law and sensitive workplace investigations.

Priya has presented at various seminar panels, university speaking engagements, and community outreach presentations in the Greater New Orleans Area. She has also co-organized several Continuing Legal Education seminars as well as pro bono clinics while collaborating with local, regional, and national organizations.

Priya is native to Louisiana and an avid LSU fan. In her spare time, she enjoys local festivities, cultural events, culinary pursuits, dancing, and spending time with family and friends.

Education

Priya received her Juris Doctor and Diploma of Comparative Law from Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University [LSU]. During her time at LSU, she was a member and Chair of the Public Interest Law Society, a member of the Moot Court Board, and a student attorney in the Immigration Clinic.
