Priya Kumar

Associate Attorney

Priya Kumar is an Associate Attorney, specializing in civil litigation, employment and labor law, sensitive workplace investigations, and serving as general counsel to small and large businesses and organizations in a variety of matters. Her diverse professional experience has been established through trusted representation of clients and providing legal guidance on internal investigations in both public institutions and for private entities, education issues, charter school law, grievances, negotiations, and contract review. She contributes to the multi- faceted team at TLG with her legal writing proficiency, valuable courtroom experience, and zealous client advocacy.

Priya is admitted to the Louisiana State Bar Association; the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Western, and Middle Districts of Louisiana; and all administrative Immigration Courts in the nation.

Throughout her career, Priya has clerked for civil and criminal state district court judges, and represented hundreds of clients in civil proceedings, juvenile proceedings, detained and non- detained removal proceedings, and administrative proceedings. Her extensive background in immigration law and criminal law, work with non-profits and governmental entities, experience with private firms, as well as dedication and commitment to public interest and social justice, all provide a unique perspective in her practice.

Priya has presented on multiple seminar panels, university speaking engagements, and community outreach presentations in the Greater New Orleans Area. She has also organized several Continuing Legal Education seminars as well as multiple pro bono clinics while collaborating with local, regional, and national organizations, and has volunteered with numerous pro bono clinics and related endeavors throughout the state.

As a native to Louisiana, Priya is a proud graduate of LSU and multilingual. Outside the practice of law, she enjoys cultural festivities, cooking, music and dancing, spending time with family and friends, and community activism and advocacy for justice and environmental sustainability.
